[Discussion]What is a series or run that you have enjoyed but feel is still overrated?
Mine is Ellis' Authority, it was an enjoyable run with some epic moments but I think to me it falls into the case of the trope Seinfeld is Unfunny. At the time the actions of the characters were, from what I've read, revolutionary and I've even seen it called genre defining but now it just seems like one among many edgy and gory takes on the Justice League. (Was it the first to do this? I actually don't know) Even without the whole change in time it still feels a bit shallow to be considered such a great comic, I felt that it's characters were lacking in development and depth and while it had insane scifi concepts and worlds, it never got down deep into them (Getting down deep into them may not be for everyone).
Though I don't think Ellis' other works fall trap to this. Nextwave was wondrously hilarious madness and Planetary went all in on Ellis' wonderful knack at having the most interesting wonderful scifi concepts and it's characters had far more depth and development. So The Authority is a fun read but if you want an Ellis' comic full of violence, mayhem, and madness I don't see why you wouldn't read Nextwave and if you want an Ellis' comic exploring a wonderful crazy scifi world full of mystery I don't see why you wouldn't read Planetary.
Sorry for the tangent, so what comics did you guys find overrated?
