Leonard Cohen as an author?
I admire the man as a musician, and was curious as to his ability as an author - but I couldn't help but be slightly apprehensive that it would end up a disappointment. Somewhat akin to, perhaps, comments I had heard regarding the writings of Jim Morrison. Though, I do acknowledge that Leonard was a poet and novelist before becoming a musician.
That being said, I read Beautiful Losers and am currently reading Book of Longing, and have to say I am pleasantly surprised by both.
Beautiful Losers is quite simply strange, though great, and it has to be said it's something quite unlike anything else.
How do others view him/his works?
