120 Days of Sodom: New or Old Translation?
I recently decided to delve deeper into the infamous work of Marquis de Sade and sample as much of his work as possible. I'm at a bit of a pickle however, I'm not sure which translation to seek out and sample first or which book release (there's numerous releases) to read. Do I pick up the recent Penguin book with the Will McMorran translation done in 2016 or seek out the Wainhouse translation from the mid 50's? How substantially different is the translation? I recall there was a bit of an uproar concerning the matters of the 2016 translation on this board. Any assistance at all would be most appreciated.
