Currently reading Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle" and I have the sneaking suspicion I'm not "getting" it? It's supposed to be a humorous book - however, if anything, I'm finding it quite profound.

This is my first Kurt Vonnegut I am reading and Cat's Cradle is supposedly written in deadpan humour and bitter irony, but I'm not sure I understand it.

There are certain sections that might make me smile, but on the whole, I'm more impressed with some of the profound observations the book makes (not to mention fascinated with the religion of Bokonon).

Not sure if this is the right word, but it feels so normal. Everything that happens and the way events are told. I'm enjoying it but also am not blown away by it. What do you guys think?
