What books changed you?
I'm always on the lookout for things people love. Because I'm such a slow reader I've read very few books and so not had many that have fundamentally changed me in any way. But asking about others allows me to live vicariously through them lol.
One book that had a major impact on me was Jim Al-Khalili's book Quantum: A Guide for the Perplexed. I should be up front here and say I probably only vaguely understand about 1% MAXIMUM of this book. I grew up and went through a modern first world education system, and finished school not knowing what the difference between physics, chemistry, and biology was (still don't really lol). And since school science in general has just been something I've ignored or avoided. Jim's book was about 1 of 8 that I picked up to try to teach me what the hell quantum physics is and why it blows so many people's minds. His was the first to help me, and when I read a certain chapter I had the most WTF reaction, followed by a few days of euphoria at how amazed I was. It felt like such a major personal accomplishment to finally be able to slightly grasp something scientific (albeit in a super primitive way), and gave me insight some strange things about the universe.
