Proust epigraphs
I've noticed recently that so many books begin with Proust quotes, particularly from Swann's Way. What is the impulse for authors to constantly refer to him? I understand that he is a literary heavyweight, but the use of his quotes is just so overdone, and it seems like so many other acclaimed authors could be quotes instead.
