Why we shouldn't empathize with Batman
A vigilante, an unhinge pyschopath, a privileged person who has never been said no to, and not a killer.
No matter how you interpret these three descriptions, Batman/Bruce Wayne fits them. He is clearly an unstable character that we should understand the choices and actions he makes, but not truly try to empathize and idolize. As lately with King's storyline, wev'e seen him level the dark knight, marry him, and bring him to his darkest moment as we saw in War of Jokes and riddles. Even if Batman is human, we should never treat him as such. His is beyond the understanding and actions of a human. He is the true potential of what the race can be if pure determination and unlimited access is available.
Yet, is he not still unhinged? Should we empathize with the man dressed as a bat and further humanize him? Or just simply accept that he is beyond human and write him as such. Though he doesn't break a moral code, does that make him any less insane?
