A simple explanation for the return of [SPOILERS] in “Doomsday Clock” #2
The big topic of discussion coming out of reading “Doomsday Clock” #2 is the return of Edward Blake, the Comedian, with everyone theorising how he can not only be in the DC universe, but also be back from the grave. There is a simple explanation, with enough evidence to back it up: HE ISN’T.
I believe the Comedian’s presence is simply that of an apparition, a symptom of Adrian’s brain tumour, and the real assailant being either a Lexcorp guard or random attacker.
As for the evidence:
1) Blake is wearing his badge, last spotted bloodstained, in space and in the possession of Manhattan in the pages of “The Flash” #22.
2) Veidt has been showing remorse for his past sins, recognising the foley of his actions, with his mental health deteriorating, this is simply his fears projected, his past coming back to haunt him.
3) Geoff Johns stated in an interview with CBR, “It’s not about alternate versions of other characters”.
