Unpopular Opinion about Elon?
I’m a second year in college and became super inspired by Elon Musk throughout the last year. So, I decided to go and pick up Ashlee Vance’s book, “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future”, and I think Vance did an amazing job of giving a raw and accurate take on Elon’s life. However, I noticed that because I started to drift away from that “superhero” image I had of him, I started to admire him less. I do think he’s a genius and inspirational and I especially respect his extraordinary attempts at improving the world. But, especially during those first ~110 pages (right before the SpaceX startup), I started to think he was just overall a bad person. My unpopular opinion is basically that Elon Musk is overrated. Especially how no credit is given to the engineers of any of his companies who truly did the hardcore science behind things.
I’m fresh from reading the book though, and maybe it’s just me taking it all in. I want to see what other people thought about the book and Elon Musk overall. Let’s discuss?
