I received this copy of The Count of Monte Cristo for Christmas and I'm wondering if you all can shed some more light on it.

So this morning my stepdad handed me this copy of The Count of Monte Cristo. It was destined for the garbage if I didn't want it, which of course I did because I love The Count of Monte Cristo. Even though I don't think it was intended to be a Christmas present, we'll count it as one just because it's so cool.

In short, it looks older than any book I've ever owned. Some of the pages are falling out, most of them have turned a dingy yellow, and the cover is much more faded than the picture would have you believe.

I'm wondering if any of you have encountered books that carry the title "Library of Select Romances." I'm most interested in a publication date or range, as there wasn't one printed on the title page. A (very basic and quick) search on Google shows one result for another book published under the "Library of Select Romances" banner in the late 1800s, but other than that, I've got nothing.

Anyone familiar with this copy of The Count of Monte Cristo? I think this little tome is very beautiful and I'd love to know more about it.
