Going through the motions - almost 2 years without reading a book thanks to my job

I used to be an avid literature reader, but that abruptly changed back in 2015 when I found a job as an editor in my native language. Basically, I have to spend my '9-to-5' reading, reading and reading - and not the most pleasant things, I'm afraid. It's mostly marketing, advertising, gaming and legal stuff, which is quite boring and repetitive.

So, when I manage to have some free time for myself, I simply cannot go back into reading. It's so frustrating. Somehow I keep buying books, but my job has ruined it this for me. I've been trying to finish Céline's "Death On Credit", but it's such a struggle.

Audiobooks are not an option, they are scarce in my native language and listening to them in English makes me miss a lot of details.

Has anyone faced this issue and managed to find a solution? Thanks!
