Would anyone be interested in an eReader/eBook library that kept data on your habits and preferences, similar to how Spotify does?

With the year coming to an end, many people are posting their own annual reading reports, but it seems like most of them simply collect and enter the data into a spreadsheet themselves. If there was a service like Spotify or Last.fm but for eBooks that kept track of your reading habits and preferences, do you think there would be interest? What data points would you be interested in?

Some habit data points could be:

  • Average pages read/time reading per day/week/year

  • Most common time(s) of day for reading

  • Average pages read/time reading per sitting

Some preference data points could be:

  • Author/protagonist demographics (gender, ethnicity, age at publication, ect.)

  • Genre relative to other user patterns (like Spotify)

  • Density preferences (vocabulary size, word length, words per sentence)

These points could be used in suggestion algorithms as well as accessible in a report generated at any time. Special summary reports could also be compiled at the end of the year.
