Anyone else disappointed in the last Michael Vey book by Richard Paul Evans?

SPOILERS

I loved how the second to last book ended. Michael saved his friends and the world in an incredible and self sacrificing act. It was perfect. Hatch was beaten in every way. The series could have been tied up with his friends making it back to their families.

And then the last book... (more major spoilers)

Hatch comes back with a vengeance, captures all the electric kids, suddenly has the last electric kid that is stronger than any of them and can copy their powers almost instantly, is poised to completely take over (so basically the entire start of the series redone) and then... Michael reappears as a literal god... teleportation, invulnerability, the works. Wipes out all the threats in like two minutes and the biggest drawback is that it takes him a few minutes before he can physically touch people. It seemed like a cheap ending.

Yes it was hinted at with Michael becoming steadily stronger but I felt like that was completely out of left field and totally ruined the series for me. It undermined every challenged the group faced, definitely made his sacrifice cheap and meaningless and was just over the top.

Anyone else feel that way or is it just me?
