In every crime fiction novel I read, the narating protagonist is always incredibly intelligent and has masterful articulation. I find this odd because most people I encounter that are involved in criminal activity don't share any of these characteristics. I would like to read some crime fiction where the protagonist is raw and doesn't have the best vocabulary. I feel it would be very refreshing.
