Feel guilty not liking classics

This sub makes me feel guilty that so far I've never been able to get into a classic. Books like, East of eden, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, The great gatsby, Great Expectations, crime and punishment are all books Ive never been able to finish. Id come home from work and almost dread reading and just do something else. The flip side is books such as bird box, the hobbit, silence of the lambs, the night angel trilogy are ones I think about reading throughout the day the day in excitement.

I understand the writing in all of them are beautiful and have great meanings and seem to impact people greatly on this sub anyway, but the pacing just doesnt do anything for me.

Did you guys never struggle reading them or grew to love them? So far I've been "actively" reading for 3 or 4 years and the only classics ive completed are animal farm, 1984, brave new world, and the stranger.
