I'm starting to read more history books and I want to know how I should go about making sure I'm not reading something totally innacurate. I started reading a book and I just arrived at a line "Ever since Columbus proved that the world was round..." and it immediately made me question if I could really believe the author. The book has nothing to do with Columbus he just seemed to use it as a "for a very long time" type of thing. How can I go about determining if a book can be viewed as historically accurate? Most people who would write a book review probably wouldn't know.
