How do I deal with teachers/adults saying "We're all tired" when I tell them I'm tired?
I suffer from bipolar disorder. One huge problem with my depression is that it keeps me awake at night, and it wakes me up a ton. It doesn't help that I have 8 AM classes every day this semester. I'm only keeping at it because I love what I am studying. Not everybody knows about my condition, obviously, so when somebody asks what's wrong, I typically say that I'm tired, but I always get the response "well, we're all tired, I didn't get sleep either last night."
That still doesn't change the fact that I'm incredibly tired and have no energy! I'm empathetic about them being tired, because I obviously understand that. However, why do people have to say that? I don't get it! It always screws with me for the rest of the day, like my sleeping problem is a burden to other people? Any help would be appreciated.
