Hi Reddit,

I've recently rekindled my enthusiasm for reading, willingly picking up a book after 3 years of a lack of reading. The book I decided to start with was The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and immediately I am faced with unfamiliar words and phrases I do not understand. Question is - how do I go about dealing with this unfamiliarity? Is it wise to look up the definition of EVERY single word I don't know (will surely take a long time) or what should I be doing when encountering such words and phrases. (I am normally accustomed to easy reading books, pls have mercy)
