I wonder if anyone has a good advice on how to make the most of the books in a given amount of time. First of all, the types of books that I read are not related to literature, fiction or genres like that. I usually read books about, say, diplomacy, economics, politics, philosophy etc. So, my problem is that because these books have a lot of really valuable and applicable knowledge I like spending 2 hours or so on say 20-30 pages which is quite frustrating. Finishing a book seems like a burden for me. I also take notes on important points while reading. Also, because I read books in online formats, usually on my laptop, I cannot highlight and make notes on the book itself.

Does anyone have useful tips on how to make the most of a given book in the shortest amount of time? Any guides or youtube videos?

Also, how much time do you guys spend usually while reading, say, 30 pages of a non-fiction book?
