In 2018 I'll read the books written by my ancestors
Some time ago it dawned on me that a lot of my ancestors have written books, some of them even interesting ones. I've read a few of them, but there's a lot left to discover. Therefore, one of my reading goals in 2018 will be to read the books written by the people, whose genes eventually came to make up what I am.
Some books I won't read, simply because they're uninteresting, or beyond my capabilities. Several of my great and great-great-grandfathers have written chemistry textbooks, and one of my grandfathers have written several feet of mathematical treatises. However, some of them have written really fascinating books, both fiction and non-fiction. One novel is even regarded as a classic in my country, which is often taught in university literature classes.
One book I'll be rereading is one of my great-grandfathers memoirs, in which he tells of his motorcycle journey through the Baltic countries, his experiences at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, and his two years in Nazi concentration camps during WWII.
Anyways, I really look forward to read the thoughts of these old geezers, and would love to hear about what your ancestors have written!
