It's Virginia Woolf's birthday. It reminded me of my first year at uni
During my first year of uni, I enrolled in one of English courses. We had to read 5 books and one of them is Mrs Dalloway. It was the very first book I read from Woolf and hence introduced me to the author herself. They picked Mrs Dalloway as the book for us to read and analyse because it demonstrates modernism in literature and stream of consciousness (they also compared it with Joyce's Ulysses). I loved the book and the way she explored human relationship, social system, loneliness and time. Unfortunately, it was the only book from Woolf that I've read. I guess in remembrance of Virginia Woolf today, I'll go to my local library and find her other works.
