If I'm posting this in the wrong place, let me know. About a year ago I was having trouble dealing with some stuff in my life. So I went to a therapist and got help with my coping skills. But things went south and I lost almost everything in a short period of time. It ended with me doing something stupid and getting arrested. I was devestated. The next day I wanted to start over and wanted to commit suicide. So I called the police to get myself in better hands. They turned me over to the hospital who placed me on an involuntary 72 hour hold. I was placed in a mental hospital for a while and while there was never diagnosed with anything and never prescribed anything. I've come around and I'm in a better place now. However, I'm working towards being a police officer to better my community and help those in ways I may not have ever gotten help with. Would my hold have any effect on this? I'm not sure what it would mean for purchasing or having firearms and no idea how it would affect me trying to join the military or police force. Does anybody know? If it does come up, any way to basically seal it? Thanks!
