Months later I still get upset and lose sleep over the stupidest thing.

Edit: Sorry this is so long, it needed a lot of detail to help you better understand how I am feeling.

So to give some context I'm a College student, and my serious girlfriend who I've been dating for a long time was the lead role as Jasmine in the play Aladin Jr. So basically there was never originally supposed to be a kiss scene in the show because the show was meant for a younger audience like kids, so it didn't really matter. So I'm thinking, "That's great, I'm happy she got such a great role, and she doesn't even have to kiss another dude!". So later down the line she tells me that the directors added in a kiss scene, and she didn't want to do it, and obviously I didn't really want her to do it. She talked to the directors and they pretty much said "well you signed up for this", which is bullshit because it wasn't in the script. She talked to "Aladin" and he was like "It's just acting it's fine." cause obviously he doesn't care, he's a dude why would he? But anyways I said to her "You litterally don't have to, just politely say 'I'm sorry but I just don't want to and I am going to respectfully not do the kiss'. They can't kick you out of the show because you don't want to kiss someone. I'm sure that breaks some kind of school policy." (Mind you that I was not forcing her at all, didn't even suggest that I don't want her to do it, she was just reluctant on her own). So the next day I'm talking to her and she brings it up and says "I'm gonna have to do it, we did it in class 3 times already so it's fine.". I also learn she didn't even try using my advice about respectfully saying no, and just did it anyways. So this is where I'm hurt pretty bad, she didn't even listen to me at all, and kissed another dude a few times. Idk but to me it feels like she didn't even care and was just saying that she did. So the show comes and I'm there for a performance, and I see "the scene" and it was the dumbest, most useless placement of a kiss I have ever seen. They kiss when everyone else in the entire cast is on stage singing, not even acknowledging that they are there. So it added nothing to the show, I have to deal with watching my girlfriend kiss some dude, and she had to kiss some dude just so these directors could have their way. I'm writing this at 2:41am, months after the show performance, because I'm still losing sleep over this, I'm getting flabacks of watching it, imagining the practices where they go over it a bunch of times. I need help. It just still hurts so bad, and keeps popping into my head all the time. I know it sounds so fucking dumb getting upset over a kiss in a musical, but it's the entire scenario that pisses me off so much. I get mad on the inside every time I see something about Aladin, or someone sings "A Whole New World". It just eats away at me knowing that the whole thing shouldn't have happened in the first place. Does anyone know how I can get this out of my head, and make it stop bothering me? I know the easy thing is to say "oh just grow up and get over it", but I can't. I don't know how to say it, but it's just more than that. Thanks for reading.
