Since when did books get so expensive?
I decided that for my New Year's Resolution, I would try to pick up some books because to be honest, I don't think I've willingly read a book since high school, which was two years ago. I've never had a problem with it, just been absorbed with other things.
Anyway, I'm checking out new books to read online and in my campus bookstore, and the prices are ridiculous. Last time I bought a hardcover book, they were maybe $18-20 at most? Soft covers ran $12. Ebooks, maybe $7? Now a days I see hard covers for $30. paperbacks for $16-20. Ebooks just as expensive as paperbacks.
What's up with this? I'd like to get back into reading because it's fun and healthy for the mind, but god damn I don't know that I can afford to do it.
