A friend of mine has recently introduced me to comic books, with my first few purchases being from Geoff Johns’ run on Green Lantern, which I’ve been thoroughly enjoying. At this point though, the Green Lantern story seems to be a huge unending story which is awesome, but hard on the wallet at this point in time. I am looking to read some more self contained stories or series preferably that have some sort of conclusion.

Some things on my list include stories like Old Man Logan, Watchmen (which I own and am reading), and Preacher as well as works like Superior Spider-Man, as opposed to the entire run on Spider-Man. Any and all suggestions are welcome, especially from companies other than Marvel or DC as I’m looking to diversify my reading.
