Thanks to a fellow Fantasy lover for rekindling my love for reading!

Quick story: I was flying from Newark to Dallas and was reading "A Dance of Dragons" when the nice girl next to me noticed. She loved ASOIAF so we had a great conversation about fantasy books. I used to read a lot of big series when I was younger, but for whatever reason I stopped (I was only reading ASOIAF because I needed to know more after watching Game of Thrones). She told me all about this author, Brandon Sanderson, and the amazing worlds/lore he created! She was so into all of his books and we talked for hours about the various series (no spoilers though!) that he had written. A couple months after that conversation I decided to pick up the first Mistborn book, as per her recommendation.

Well, I finished the last book of the first trilogy after a marathon reading session last night and BOY I missed reading. Books have such a unique and incredible ability to take your on a emotion, palpable journey. TV shows and video games do often have great stories, but nothing can compare to the depth and connection made with the characters of a book. I get filled with awe every time I look at my closed book and think "Wow, inside of that tiny thing is a gigantic, beautiful world full of all of these amazing people who touched and inspire me!" To the girl on that flight, thank you for showing me my passion for fantasy again. Even though I never knew your name, you have given me one of the best gifts I have ever received: Books!
