The Alice Network
I was up until 2am last night finishing The Alice Network by Katherine Quinn Has anyone else read this? It's been a day and I'm still thinking about it...
I really enjoyed this book - I'm not sure what it was exactly but I was just hooked early on. Essentially it's about the underground resistance during WWI and follows a character involved with the Queen of Spies. It's your typical historical fiction novel.
I LOVE WWII books and have read so many its probably unhealthy... But the Alice Network is WWI based (with another story line directly post-WWII) and as I was reading, I realized how little I know about The Great War, and more specifically the underground resistance during that period (I have read The Nightengale which is WWII).
I was also surprised to read in the Authors note that many of the events in the book were based on actual specific events and people, which I suppose is the definition of historical fiction, ha. This novel seemed to be pretty in line with history which was satisfying to learn.
So, does anyone have any WWI historical fiction recommendations for me?
I am on mobile so I apologize if this is a mess, just wanted to share.
