The two biggest author binges I've ever been on (besides Goosebumps as a child) were Dean Koontz and Stephen King. I see the two compared in a lot of threads and posts. I'd like to hear some of your thoughts on the two, comparatively and individually. I'd also like to hear some opinions on other writers who would better be compared to one or the other. My opinion in short: Koontz is damn good when he's good, which leads to being damn disapointed when he isn't. King is one of the greats. As in pizza and sex, when King is good, he's freaking goooood, but when he's bad, it's still pretty good.
