My wife really wants me to read these books and I can't bring myself to do it. I've heard that it's basically text based pornography for women.

I'm not wasting my time if there isn't even a redeemable story there. She wanted me to read Twilight too and I couldn't get past the first half of the first book because it was so vapid and empty. I'm not repeating that experience.
