Now that .NET Core is stable and taking off, does .NET Framework have any future in web development?

I work for a company that has made a large investment in .NET technologies. For future projects, I want to make the push for .NET Core as our new standard. Does anyone know of any reasons to develop new apps in ASP.NET on .NET Framework or has Core basically rendered it obsolete for web development?
