What to focus on when learning ASP.NET Core for a job in web development?
I am a hobbyist programmer and I have decided to focus on learning web development to get a job in the field. I have settled on C# and ASP.NET Core because there seems to be lots of jobs in my area using it, and I have previously enjoyed working with C#. My idea is to create a portfolio of different sites built with ASP.NET Core.
I am wondering what would be the most valuable skills to learn in building a portfolio. With all the different ways to structure your application (MVC, Razor pages, API + Angular / React / Vue.js, etc) I am a bit at a loss for what I should be focusing on. Of course eventually learning all of them would be great, but to just get my foot in the door and get a portfolio of sites going, what would you recommend? Thanks!
