Will a web app targeting .NET 4.5.x get any benefits from installing 4.6.x or 4.7.x on the server?
For example, according to the What's new in the .NET Framework article, there were improvements made to the garbage collector performance in .NET 4.7.1
Will these improvements be available to an application targeting .NET 4.5.2, or does the application need to be rebuilt targeting 4.7.1 in order to take advantage of these performance improvements?
