With Stack Overflow's recent choice to mix Dapper and EF Core, have their been any non-anecdotal tests done on the speed comparisons between the two?
From SO's recent blog article, it looks like they're using EF Core for persisting data to the DB, but are using Dapper for the selects. In an upcoming project of mine, I am intending to use normal EF Core queries for simple selects and persists. But there are some complex queries I am going to build in the app, so I was wondering if I should execute the SQL string with Dapper or EF Core.
I think the gut reaction is to assume that Dapper is faster, but with all the changes MS has made to EF with Core, I was wondering if the speed issues have been resolved or if the speed differences are negligible.
Has their been any studies or tests that show the actual speed differences?
