ASP.NET Core - Razor Pages - Can you POST asynchronously without JS/AJAX?

I've looked this up, but it seems that the most recommended way of POSTing asynchronously is to called an AJAX method and return JS. This doesn't feel real great to me. Is there a way to do it within RazorPages itself?
