I'm learning ASP.NET Core and will be starting a new project which will have a web frontend as well as an API project. The web frontend will consume the data provided by API project.

My question is around how I should create and maintain Visual Studio projects for both.

1. Two separate solutions
2. One solution, two projects.

I've seen some examples of #2 that organize the solution as:

MyApp MyApp.Web MyApp.Api 

I'm curious if that offers any benefits other than just keeping the code together but logically separated.

If I understand correctly, I will still need to create an API client in my web project (something like this)
