I've tried this one and similar ones on docs.microsoft.com but after following the instructions to click here, click there, etc, I still don't understand what is going on and why. I just don't get the terminology nor do I understand the advantages of using the template instead of a blank project.

The Tutorials Point one looked promising since it starts off with an empty project, but the tutorial was out of date and I was unable to extrapolate what replaced the deprecated methods.

Are there any recommended free tutorials out there? Or am I just too much of a dummy? I can make Winforms desktop apps, and I can do regular HTML, CSS and JS websites, but ASP just seems to be kicking my arse.
