Beware MCSD seekers: Microsoft has suddenly changed the requirements for a third time.

TLDR: 70-480 and 70-483 are removed from the elective pool.

Around the new year, MS announced that the MCSD could be earned by completing one of the following:

70-487 (currently available) 70-480 (new) 70-483 (new) 70-486 (new) 70-357 (new)

For the uninitiated, to earn an MCSD you need an MCSA. You can get the UWP MCSA by earning 70-357 and 70-483 or the Web MCSA by earning [70-480 or 70-483] AND 70-486. A few weeks ago, they decided that you couldn't earn the MCSD with either 70-480 or 70-483 if you had the Web MCSA (even if you don't have one of them!). Now, they've suddenly removed 70-480 and 70-483 entirely from the "elective" pool.

A couple weeks ago, MCSA:Web holders got boned on 70-483 suddenly not counting for the MCSD. This week, MCSA:UWP holders got boned on 70-480 no longer counting.

The elective pool for MCSD is now down to 70-357, 70-486 and 70-487. MS has not communicated any of this ahead of time so people have lost time and money studying/taking irrelevant certs.

For those keeping track at home, we are now at 3 sudden unannounced requirement changes to MCSD requirements in 3 months. Well done Microsoft.
