So I've been using the performance profiler to locate what is causing my application to slow down. So far I've shaved 5 seconds off the start time but I'm stuck at the XMAL parsing times.

I can see that it takes 3 seconds to parse the page in the Application Timeline. Is the anyway of optimising this?
