Migration from VB and Webforms to C# and MVC... What kind of ride am I in for?

My past has always been in Visual Basic. It is just a lot easier for my to read, write and troubleshoot. I've programmed console applications, desktop applications and web applications using SQL, LINQ and other databases.

Over the next few months I want to force myself out of my comfort zone and away from Webforms and VB and learn ASP.NET Core MVC and maybe even make the switch to C#.

Has anyone here made that switch? Is it recommended to move to ASP.NET Core MVC with VB and then once I understand ASP.NET Core MVC move to C# or should I do it all at once?

It is difficult for me to determine what to do as I do not know, what I do not know. Maybe ASP.NET Core MVC isnt that scary and confusing coming from Webforms. Maybe it is extremely confusion and I would need to unlearn everything about Webforms to truly understand ASP.NET Core MVC.

I'm lost and looking for some advice from more intelligent people than myself. Any recommendations for someone feeling lost and confused about where to even start?

I just started watching https://dotnet.microsoft.com/learn/web and plan to spend a lot of time after work and this weekend consuming as much information as I can.
