I'm working in operations and we want to update the .NET Framework 4.5 and 4.5.1 to 4.7.2 as those old versions are unsupported and a high risk.

But I am unable to determine the risk from a developer perspective. Will an update of the .NET Framework be a risk for an application build on .NET?
