I am reading The Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger. I was hesitant at first, because I figured I couldn't deal with the tween angst after YA, historical fiction, dark fantasy, and eroticas. The high ratings on Goodreads, the BEAUTIFUL cover art, and the aspect of telepathy got me to start the series. I haven't stopped reading since last week, and I'm now on book 3: "Neverseen."

I don't regret going back to this book age range at all. It captures the awkwardness and confusing feelings I had as a child just perfectly. It's like leaping back in time to get a glimpse or brief flicker of emotions I used to know so well. It's refreshing. Not only does Messenger hit the feels just right, she also has an amazing magic system that makes me feel the excitement I had when I read the Harry Potter series and feel an attachment I had with the cool characters from Rick Riordan's novels.
