How do you see a therapist?
This is going to be an odd question, but how does one see a therapist? I've gone through a lot of crap this past year and I've been told by a close friend that I should consider seeing a therapist. The problem for me is that I come from a culture (India) that doesn't really believe in mental health problems. So I'm naturally hesitant. But I want to give this a try. How do I get over this hesitation? What can I expect when I go to my school's counseling center? Should I be prepared with things to talk about? Should I have questions to ask them? Should I be careful about things I say just in case they misconstrue it?
