I’ve not really delved into sci fi before because the genre intimidated me due to my lack of knowledge. I started off reading 2001: A Space Odyssey and then spotted The Dark Forest in the corner of a book shop in the airport. I had never heard of it before and didn’t realise it was the second part of a trilogy but bought it anyways.

It was one of the most incredible fictional journey’s I have experienced. There is so much detail and character development! Usually when I am nearing the end of a book, I skim through because I am bored and there’s nothing left to offer. This book is totally different. Every 20 pages there is another bit of information to learn or another twist or another big reveal.

Even if you haven’t read sci fi before, I highly recommend this book to you. It’s really a great introduction to the genre and I am definitely going to read the rest of the series.
