Hi folks, so it appears that there are an abundance of .net development jobs in my area compared to node which seems to be the thing that the majority of web-dev places push on newbies.

What exactly is .Net?

Is it possible to create smaller web apps with it akin to what I would put in a portfolio ? Whenever I see .net mentioned it is usually rated to big enterprise level apps?

Does anyone have an good rescources for learning .net development as like I say the majority of places on sites like udemy appear to focus on node as a back-end solution
