It's a great book but...
Warning: rant time.
... I'm finding myself not as engaged with it as I'd like to. The prose is great and because I can't predict what will happen it feels fresh and unique. But it'snot making me turn the page to find out what happens next. I'd rather just skim through it to study its prose and the way the author uses language rather than read it for enjoyment or to understand myself better. It's not boring. But why am I not reading it more often?
I'm talking about not just one book but many. Don Delillo's Underworld, 100 Years of Solitude, Swan Thieves, Wheel of Time, Song of Ice and Fire... I read and pick up too many books, choose a few to read and find myself unable to get engaged in any of them. I find myself coming home from work and instead of reading I slog through the internet in order to rest my mind from the stress.
I'm not understanding exactly what's preventing me reading more and seeing more films. Maybe it's the length, maybe it's the logical reasoning behind procrastination. I know Don Dellio's Underworld is a great book, I can see it. Why am I making up excuses to not read it?
Something has to go. Good thing I have video blocker but now, I'm going to be needing a website blocker. Cold blood, you need it especially for your self.
