Contact by Carl Sagan is equal parts mind-numbingly boring, and fantastically interesting
I'm currently about half-way through Contact, and I've had to force myself to get through some chapters, and breeze through others. I love Vaygay, and Ellie is a compelling protagonist, but I feel like anything having to do with the nitty gritty politics (Star Wars prequels anyone?) of everything is such a slog.
I appreciate it, in the sense that its very realistic, and perhaps the boring nature of it is intentional, to sort of imitate how world politics would impede such a discover.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or with any other books?
