I had this just happened to me recently with the book Armada by Ernest Cline. I was high on Ernest Cline after reading Ready Player One not the best book ever but a really fun read. After a few chapters of armada nothing about it was really gripping my attention and I put it down but in my opinion it has a strong ending compared to the beginning and I'm really glad that I finished it.
