Is it better to arrange a chronological reading list by each author's birthday or by each book's date of publication?

Hello everyone. Today I have decided to make a reading list to occupy my time with for next year. I have selected 100 authors whose works I would like to read and I want to go through the list chronologically, meaning that I will be reading the older/classical authors first and then make my way up to more contemporary ones towards the end.

The problem I am having though is that I am at a loss as to whether I should chronologically arrange the list by each author's birthday or by each book's date of publication. If it was simply a list of 100 books I would do the latter but this is not, it is a list of 100 authors that I have chosen. For most of these authors I have selected only one book from them but for some of them, such as H.G. Wells, John Steinbeck, and Stephen King, there are several books they have authored that I want to read.

So I am at a loss as to whether I should arrange the list, again, by birthday of the author or by the publication date of each book I have selected from them. The biggest issue is that I want to read books from each author all at once. To understand what I am saying read this next example. J.R.R. Tolkien is another author on my list and I want to read both The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. I want to read LOTR right after I read The Hobbit but, since they were published more than a decade apart, I would have to read The Hobbit (1937), read books of some of the other authors after, and THEN read the LOTR (1954) and I don't want to do that. I want to read all of the books each author has written at once meaning I want to read The Hobbit and then The Lord of the Rings before moving on and doing the same for the other authors. I want to read all of the Jules Verne books I have chosen and read them one after the other without skipping through them and THEN, once I am done with him, then I will move on to the next author like I stated previously. If I arrange the books by date of publication though I will be unable to do this as I would have to read The Hobbit (1937) and then go on to the next book on the list, (And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, 1939), before going through to the LOTR.

To put it simply, do you guys think I should chronologically arrange the list by the birthday of each of the authors or the publication date of each of their books I have selected? I have bad OCD so I have been sitting in my chair for the last ten hours deliberating this and would appreciate some help. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
